Is powerline encryption safe?

Is powerline encryption safe?

Most of the discussion about powerline ethernet security revolves around leakage of signal to neighbors, etc., and the recommendation is to enable encryption, which most of these devices have.
I'm trying to find out if anyone looked into how secure that encryption is. It took Wi-fi a while to arrive at the (probably, arguably, with a long enough passphrase) secure WPA2. Powerline adapters have 128 bit AES, which is OK, I guess, but only if it's implemented correctly.
This person couldn't find much, and neither could I. Maybe someone knows more?
