Best of Texas Charity Happy Hour Welcomes TV Show "What Not to Wear"

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 31, 2009

BestofTexas.com, the interactive lifestyle and community guide for all the best Texas has to offer, held their first charity happy hour the evening of March 25th. The event took place at Jack's Backyard Grill in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, and supported MHDA's The Bridge homeless shelter. Pulled together in less than four days, the event was also a cover for the (TLC) BBC TV show 'What Not to Wear'.

Amanda Newman-Warr, Editor-in-Chief at Best of Texas, was nominated by her husband and coworkers to be on the show. Once her nomination was confirmed, the company worked with the network to set up a hidden camera in her office and get her out to events to have secret footage shot of her working in her get-ups. Best of Texas was asked to set up a 'Best of Texas Happy Hour' for the big surprise, when Amanda would be chosen by TLC, hosts Stacey and Clinton.

Best of Texas established the venue at Jack's Backyard Grill, owned by Cathy Jack, who welcomed the idea with open arms. Local Texas band, Eastwood rocked at the event. The afternoon of the event started off a little hectic, with a 20-person production crew running around doing interviews and shots with the hosts - all while the rain poured continuously outside.

The 'What Not to Wear' cover was kept secret to essentially everyone, up until the event host, Marketing Director Ashley Wicks, went onstage to thank everyone for coming to support MDHA's The Bridge. During the speech, with Amanda intently filming every second, hosts Stacy and Clinton stormed the crowd and grabbed the microphones to surprise the nominee. From there on, cameras shot everything imaginable, and eventually took Amanda off to shoot more footage for the television show.

Despite the weather, the turn-out for the event was great. Over 100 local individuals showed up attend the Best of Texas charity happy hour and to support The Bridge Homeless Shelter. The guests enjoyed free food, free valet, live music by Eastwood, prize drawings and $ 3 Best of Texas 'Ritas. 100% of the profits from the sale of the drink went directly to The Bridge.

Best of Texas raised $ 325 in drink sales, $ 330 in cash donations and about five boxes worth of Wish List items to be donated to the multi-purpose homeless facility. "To know that we were able pull this event together on such short notice, and have it be a complete success, is a wonderful feeling. Having 'What Not to Wear' at our event was the icing on the cake.

The night turned out to be fun as well as meaningful" says Ashley Wicks.

"Although the happy hour event was staged for the BBC 'What Not to Wear' show this time around, we plan on hosting monthly charity events throughout Texas to rally the community and support local charities. In tough economic times like these, it's important that we stay involved and do all that we can," says Best of Texas CEO, Carrie Layne.

They have also created a new website to demonstrate the new accessory in a more up to date manner.

Best Time Gaming Racing Wheel Platforms has helped to redefine the video racing experience. Most Video Game Racing Wheels are designed to mount to the edge of a table top, computer desk or TV tray. This limits you to a certain viewing room and position in which to use the racing wheel while comfortably viewing your monitor or TV set. With the Best Time Gaming Wheel Platform? you can now mount your Racing Wheel to the Gaming Wheel Platform? and then attach the platform to your favorite arm chair. You will immediately notice that the chair and steering wheel act as one unit because they are securely attached to each other. You are in a more upright position with the steering wheel easily adjusted for a perfect front to back fit making it feel more like a driver's seat.

This innovative new product will allow games to really feel like they are part of the action. Currently, there is no product on the market today under $ 100.00 that comes close to competing with this ?patent pending? attachment made for video game racing wheels. Best Time Gaming a small independently owned company. Their products are made in the USA and shipped nationwide. They strive to use the best materials available to provide their customers with a quality, durable product that should last for many years. Demand for video racing game accessories has increased steadily ove rthe last 5 years according to Mr. Couch. They are striving to fulfill the needs of the gaming enthusiast with quality products that will handle the activity and performance requirements. New Games out this year like Gran Turismo 5 will be realistic and exciting by using the Gaming Wheel Platform.? Thus Best Time Gaming Products created a specific website for this new product. This racing wheel mount will feel more secure when attached properly to your arm chair than the racing wheel mount, lap attachment, racing wheel stand or racing wheel support currently on the market for driving wheels, especially those models using Force Feedback such as the Logitech G25 and G27 Racing Wheels.

Two models are currently available, the ?Standard Mount? and the ?Separate Gear Shift Mount?. Both models come finished in a durable gloss black lacquer finish. The back side of the platform has a rubberized backing to protect the arm rest from scratches.

Many gamers are also using this product with flight simulators. The joysticks are PS3/PC T-Flight Stick X and Thrustmaster Flight Stick. Demand for Telepresence was very strong and there were many large enterprise-wide deployments. The superb quality of Full 1080p High Definition video was widely recognized and large deployments in conference rooms and on the desktop were made. Video became an essential part of Unified Communications for a growing number of companies. The five vendor companies chosen for the 2010 Awards produced the innovative products that best met these customer demands."

Ofer Shapiro has been CEO of Vidyo, Inc. since he helped found the company in April 2005. Under his leadership, Vidyo has revolutionised the approach to delivering multi-site High Definition videoconferencing by making it possible over general purpose networks like the Internet and now smart phones and tablets on wireless mobile networks using a software-solution. The VidyoConferencing platform uses a simple router rather than an MCU to create a multi-site video network. The award recognizes his personal contribution to this innovation and leading its commercial realization and success.

The HD Videoconferencing network platform called VidyoConferencing is deemed the most important innovation of 2010. Vidyo has developed the neatest and most innovative solution to overcome the problems of using video on the Internet and general purpose IP networks, namely packet loss, variations in available bandwidth and latency. Using SVC (scaleable video coding), Vidyo changes the way the video signal is represented by representing it in a number of layers. The VidyoRouter's intelligence decides which layers will be transmitted to each site on a video network, at what frame rate and over what bandwidth. The video endpoints do the video compression and decompression.

Vaddio added to its leading range of robotic PTZ cameras and high-end camera control systems in 2010 and also launched two new product lines: furniture for housing Telepresence and videoconferencing solutions and electronic video whiteboards.
